Getting to Callanish is quite easy, in fact much easier than reaching some parts of mainland Scotland.

By Air :  Fly to Glasgow or Edinburgh by your preferred carrier and then onwards to Stornoway by Loganair.  Stornoway airport is well-served and about 30 minutes drive from Callanish.  Car Rental is available at the airport from Car Hire Hebrides.

By Sea :  Regular ferries run from Ullapool on the mainland to Stornoway and from Uig on Skye to Tarbert.  If using your car, quickest journey times are likely to be by way of Stirling, Perth and Inverness to Ullapool.
Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries

By Bus :  City-Link and Megabus run services from Glasgow and Edinburgh by way of Inverness to Ullapool linking with the ferry.  On Lewis there is a good community bus service serving Callanish.

The Cheaper Option : It is quite easy to get to Callanish in a day from other parts of the UK. An early budget flight to Inverness to arrive by lunchtime allows you to take the bus or hire a car and still catch the late afternoon ferry from Ullapool

For the adventurous it is quite possible to devise ferry journeys in slow time that allow you to visit other islands in the Outer and Inner Hebrides on your way to or from Callanish.
